Wicket keeping - Standing up footwork down legside

When standing up to the stumps and taking the ball down the legside, wicket keepers should:

  1. Anticipate the likely line and height of the ball.
  2. Push off the inside leg and make a long initial step to the onside.
  3. Stay low.
  4. Ideally take the ball in line with the head.
  5. Anchor the feet close to the wickets which will allow the keeper to make a stumping.
